‘How I live now’
A young American girl called Elizabeth come over from the US to spend the summer with her cousins in England. She doesn’t take to well to her new surroundings suffering from OCD extremely bad. As she eventually begins to open up, a disaster happens involving a nuclear explosion and an invasion from unknown enemies. The boys and girls get separated and sent to different places. After escaping Elizabeth goes on a quest to get back to the country side house she started at to meet the boys. She’s determined to get back because she developed feelings for the older cousin and has shared intimate nights with him. With the little girl she faces an uphill struggle to fight through a war pandemic to get back to the house
The director of the movie is called Kevin Macdonald. Some of his other movies consist of: The last king of Scotland, The Eagle, Life in a Day and Marley.
The companies involved in making this film were Film 4, BFI Film Find and Cowboy Films.
The film was filmed in England and Wales. The cameras used to capture this film are Arri Alexa M, Arri Alexa Plus, Arricam LT, Arriflex 435 and Canon EOS C300. The Canon was used to capture the cinematography because it is fairly small and can be held easily when moving about or on the run.
The main actor is called Saoirse Ronan and she has been in other movies like HANNA, The Lovely Bones and Atonement. The other main actor is George MacKay, he has been in movies like Peter Pan, Defiance and The Boys Are Back. The company that provided the visual effects was called Union Visual Effects.
In the US the film was distributed by Magnolia Home Entertainment. In Europe it was distributed by TF1 International, UGC International, Videorama, Impuls Home Entertainment and Zon Lusomundo Audiovisuais. In the UK it was distributed by Momentum Pictures.
the film is from Britain. I say this because it contains a lot of British culture, for example the use of tea. The breakfast was a traditional British breakfast.
